Art Barry III, SIOR, with Coldwell Banker Commercial Eberhardt & Barry Inc. negotiated the sale of the former Atlantic Lakeside property in Thomaston, Georgia to an Australian based company, Australasia Holdings, LLC.
The property was originally built in 1994 as a textile manufacturing and robotic retrieval/distribution facility for Thomaston Mills. The building is an all concrete tilt-up style containing 433,000± square feet. The site contains 80± acres located prominently beside the Upson County Reservoir.
In 2004, Atlantic Lakeside Properties purchased the facility and leased it to operators who manufactured paper towels, bowls and plates. Until 2014, this manufacturing operation employed over 200 people. The paper products company closed its doors in 2014.
The building will be leased to a third party logistics provider servicing nearby cabinet manufacturers as well as a national appliance manufacturer.
