(Ocilla, Irwin County, Georgia, February 15, 2018) – Arthur P. Barry III, SIOR with Coldwell Banker Commercial Eberhardt & Barry, Inc. of Macon, Georgia, brokered the sale of the former Irwin Manufacturing facility located at 398 Fitzgerald Highway.
Irwin Manufacturing Company was founded in 1946 as a family owned cotton textile manufacturing facility. Jeff Heller and his partner, Alvin Kaplan, have been operating the facility as a manufacturer of women’s and children’s nightwear. Through the years, Irwin Manufacturing expanded its clothing manufacturing enterprise while creating numerous jobs for the citizens of Ocilla. At its peak, Irwin Manufacturing employed over 200 at this facility.
Art Barry, SIOR, represented the Sellers of the property. Joe Edge, SIOR, of Sherman and Hemstreet, represented the Purchaser. The new owner will lease the facility back to Irwin Manufacturing for the foreseeable future.
The building contained 160,400± square feet situated on 7.3± acres.
