(Fitzgerald, Georgia, February 23, 2015) – Arthur P. Barry III, SIOR with Coldwell Banker Commercial Eberhardt & Barry, Inc. of Macon, Georgia, brokered the sale of the former Georgia Manufactured Housing facility, the largest of its kind in South Georgia.
At its peak, Georgia Manufactured Homes was producing fourteen finished units per day with an on-site production employee base of over 450 persons. The plant contained a total of 113,702 square feet of manufacturing / distribution. The entire location includes 19 acres. Georgia Manufactured Homes closed its operations in 2000.
The new owner, Covered Wagon Trailers, a Fitzgerald, Georgia based company, is a leader in personal use covered pull-behind custom trailers. The new facility will employ 75 people and will begin their manufacturing there in May 2015. Barry represented the Owner of the facility, Ameris Bank.
