The Telegraph Building is located on the corner of 287 Cherry Street which allows ample parking access. At a size of 26,000 square feet (offices ranging from 2,700 – 18,000 square feet), it is an impressive workspace that inspires productivity with marvelous views of the city. There are two entrances that contain elevators to the second floor making it an easy building to navigate.
History of The Telegraph Building
The Telegraph is a staple to the culture in Macon, Georgia. It has been the city’s immediate news source since 1826, just three years after Macon was chartered to be a municipality. Although it started as a weekly newsletter, it was published daily around the same time that the Civil War ended. The Telegraph received a Pulitzer Prize in 1985 after it published an exposé on athletics at The University of Georgia and Georgia Technical College, and in 2008 it was given the McClatchy President’s Award. Today, it is circulated amongst 30 counties and is the main news source for Middle Georgia. The Telegraph also produces the newspapers for many neighboring towns including The Houston Sun and Neighbors and Robins Rev-Up which is the paper for the Robins Air Force Base.
